No, it doesn't necessarily mean cancer. A hypoechoic or low echoic area simply means that less echos are reflected from the Ultrasound than would normally be expected. If you experience pain during the ultrasound I would imagine that you would feel the same pain with any pressure put on that particular area. When you get your report be sure you get a full and detailed explanation of it from your prescribing Physician ... don't try to understand it yourself or search out each and every term. Regards ....
