Thank you both for the info, I've heard about this "magic mouthwash", seems odd that the pharmacist needs to mix it on the spot per patient. I guess when MuGard is fully available in the US, it is something meant to solve that issue and just be a single prescribed solution.
Thanks for your well wishes, and I will be sending the same your way.
Here are two links which provide information about "magic mouthwash" which is helpful for patients receiving chemotherapy.

Best wishes to you and your relative...
I don't know anything about MuGard, but I do know what it feels like to have this fungal infection in your mouth, and even further spread, from chemo.
I can also say that something so pretty much innocent, or minor sounding, turned out for me to be a huge deal. Not only extremely painful, but feeling bad all over.
I think that in the US fungal infections are often ignored, and that doctors, (not oncologists of course) neither know how to diagnose this adequately, but even less how to treat properly.
There are quite a few agents that will take care of this condition, from lozenges to pills, to dissolving tablets, etc. They all work when they are among the prescription ones. Some taste horrible, others not, and some have side effects. These side effects are to be expected as it is caused from killing the infection,
So, I do not know MuGard, but I encourage everyone suffering from this to immediately tell your doctor and get treated for?
