I am a 29 yr old femaleCondoms Female condoms Female sexual dysfunction and have a lumpLumps in the breasts in my right breast as well as a growth in my right armpitArmpit lump, just recently I started noticing that my right breast itches all of the time. About 3 yrs ago I had a fna and it returned that were atypicalAtypical pneumonia cells found in the lumpLumps in the breasts. I didn't have insurance at the time and never did anything about it. I now have good insurance and am scheduled to go through a mammogram and ultrasound in a week from now. The waiting is torture. Does this mean that i have breast cancer?
Thank you for response. I know it shouldn't seem like such a big deal but being as I didn't have insurance before they didn't do the mammogram or ultrasound, so I've never had one. As I said the waiting is torture. But, it's simply because it's like starting all over again and I know whatever answers or advice I get here are really not a piece of mind. I need an answer based on facts. I'm just looking for some piece of mind I guess, or hoping. But again thank you for your response and good wishes. I'll let you know how everything turns out.
How did they do a FNA three years ago without mammogram or US? I thought that was always the first step. It also would have given you a baseline image from 3 years ago to compare to the current image. Too bad. But at least now you will have a baseline, which is a good thing. I hope your current issue turns out to be benign.
For future reference, a lot of communities have some sort of breast health nonprofit organization or hospital that helps uninsured women get mammograms. If you find yourself uninsured again, look around for these kinds of programs. They are pretty common now.
