How do I make the right choice

Well the waiting parts over, I done the biopsy on 02/12/09 an the Dr. called me on 02/13/09, all she said was it's not good, you have breast cancer. Ok now what? I know what Dr. I want to take care of this , except I have ppl telling me Not to go to the one I want, to go to the one that they think is good. And thats fine I need all the info I can get at this point. I just want to make the RIGHT choice, cause Heaven know I don't want to  do the wrong thing.  All I know is I want whats right for me!  Plus I can't afford to drive all over the country, plus I have to stay within network because of our Insurance. I would go to Mayo clinic if I could afford too, or some well known cancer center.
Any info that might help me make the right choice will help.. Thank you for your time, an may God Bless each and everyone ...

Hi Cathy,I am very sorry too that you got this dreaded phone call, that frightens so many of us! I went trough the same thing and so many wonderful women in this community gave me hope, encouragement and so many good advices.. As Sue Young said, when you choose a doctor that you trust, that's the one you should go to.Take one day at a time and follow all the given treatments the doctor will give you.The important thing is not to be discouraged because nowadays cancer is treatable and many women get through it all.Keep positive thoughts and I am sure that the problems that you are facing will be much lighter than what you are thinking right now.I feared the worst and now that I had my surgery and tomorrow will finish my radiation therapy I feel like renewed and much at peace.I truly wish you the best Cathy and may God Bless you.

First of all, I'm so sorry you got that phone call with that news. Wow.. it sounds like you haven't even had time to digest the news and everyone is making arrangements and plans for you. I'm sorry about that, too.

If you have a doctor's office you feel comfortable with, then that's the right place for you. If you trust them, then that's the right doctor for you. Should you feel uncomfortable with anything told to you by any doctor, please don't hesitate to get a second opinion. Trust your instincts Cathy :)

God Bless you on this journey. You can do this. You are not alone. So many sisters and brothers here who walked that walk before you and are here to support you should you need it.
