I think I might have Inflammatory Breast Cancer. Please I need advice!!!

Hello, I have a eczema like rash on my right breast next to my nipple and little bumps (which in my research are called skin mets, from the pic I have seen that is what the bumps I have look like) around my breast. I have been doing some research and my symptoms are similar of that to  Inflammatory Breast Cancer. I have at least 4 of the symptoms that are listed in the articles I have read. I have the red eczema looking rash next to my nipple, Skin mets (at least i think I have them), burning, stinging and stabbing like pains in my breast which feels like the pain is  trying to shoot from my breast and out my nipple very painful and can not stand for them to be touched or anything up against my breast, itching (my skin does not itch it is the inside of my breast that itches and the inside of my nipple), and feels warm or hot to touch. This really has me worried because it is a very aggressive type of breast cancer. I have had these symptoms for a couple months now but just have started researching it here recently. I have an appointment with my doc April 3, which was as soon as they could see me. I also think I might have a discharge coming out of my breast because my bra sticks to my nipple but there is no residue in my bra so I am really not for sure if there is a discharge. Also my nipple looks white in the area where milk would come out if I was breast feeding, why would that be? I would really like someones advice as to what could be wrong. My mother says not to worry because it might not be anything to worry about, but I am scared. I have to many of the symptoms of this cancer not to worry. What if it is IBC could I die? If not IBC then what could this be? I would really love any advice anyone could give me. Thank you for reading.

Hi,

You should go ahead and question your doctor till you are convinced. But even then, you need to calm yourself down that there is a strong possibility that all is well and that nothing is wrong - especially so since your doctor would only be over cautious so that they miss out nothing.

Talking with your doctor would help clear out your doubts.

Post us about how you are doing and let us know if you have any doubts.

Regards.

Well I got a letter from the hospital about the mammogram and it said everything was normal, but I know something is wrong and no one is telling me what it is. I have done asked 2 doctors about what is going on with my breast and they can not tell me what is going on. I do not know of any other doctor to see about this. I guess when I go back to the doctor who ordered the mammogram I will ask her again and to see if she knows who a specialist I could see. Thanks for the concern

Hi,

You could wait for the reports and then reconsult with yourbreast specialist about this and also for a review examination.

If you are still not convinced, you could also take a second opinion.

Let us know about the reports when they come in.

Let us know about how you are doing and if you have any other doubts.

Hi, well I went to the doctor and before she even looked at it she said it was a rash and never even bothered to look or give any medicine for it. So I went to my primary care doctor and she set me up for a mammogram and an ultrasound, which I done yesturday, but they only done my left breast not both and my problem is in my right breast, so I am thinking she felt something in my left breast. So I should find out the results in about a week or so. Thanks for the concern I will keep you posted.

Hi,

This could be due to hormonal changes associated with menstrual cycles, pregnancy etc.

You could try some warm compresses and breast massage and wear lose clothes.

Let us know about how you are doing.

Hi,

Do let us know if there is any symptomatic improvement in the itching with the oral antihistamine medications and calamine lotion.

Hi,

You could apply calamine lotion and take some oral antihistamine medications for the itching. Wear lose clothes. This should help with your symptoms till you get to see your doctor.

Good luck for your appointment.

Keep us posted.

Thanks for the concern. I am doing fine but the itching of my breast and nipple (it is not my skin itching) along with the pain is driving me crazy. I will let you know how everything goes with my appointment. Thanks

Hi,

The symptoms in all cases of cancer are very variable from one individual to another and therefore canot be used to make a diagnosis of cancer.

Keeping your age and symptoms in mind, it is foremost to rule out other causes before coming to the possibility of cancer.

You should get a linical evaluation done by a certified physician.

Relax and let us know about what your doctor or breast specialist advises.

Let us know if you have any other doubts.

I am 25 years old. I have at least 5 symptoms of a certain type of breast cancer called Inflammatory Breast Cancer. I do not have any breast lumps but the thing is with this type there may not be any lumps, I have been doing some research. I have abnormal features on my breast that are the same as the pictures in the articles I have researched as well as described in the articles.
-I have the eczema looking rash next to my nipple, which looks like the skin of an
  orange but red in color
-I have these bumps on my skin around my nipple, which if they are what I think it is,
  they are called skin mets
-I have stabbing, burning, shooting pain going through my breast and my nipple which
  is very painful
-I have the intense itching but not from the rash or from my skin, what itches is the
  inside my breast and nipple
-I think I may have a discharge, but really not for sure, because my bra sticks to my
nipple, but there is no residue in my bra, so I am really not for sure.

What could be the cause for this, if not cancer? The rash is on my right breast but my left breast looks as if it is starting to get the same rash in about the same area as the rash on my right breast. I have an appointment with my gyn to look at my breast April 3 and am going to have them do some test to see if I have nothing to worry about. But until them I am just going crazy wandering what this is.

Hi,

I think it is too early for you to worry about this being breast cancer.

What is your age? Have you noticed any abnormal features on breast self examination like skin changes, breast lump, nipple discharge , etc.

You need to consult your breast specialist to get a proper clinical evaluation and to get relevant investigations if required.

This could simply be skin lesions or some infective lesion.

Relax and let us know about what your doctor or breast specialist advises.

Let us know if you have any other doubts.

Regards.
