Is surgery only option for complex breast fibroadenomatoid hyperplasia

My mom is 54 years old and she has a huge left breast lump. The trucut biopcy result says she has fibroadenomatoid hyperplasia and it has almost occupied the whole of left breast. So the treating doctor advised us to go in for a surgery. Is it the only option please advice?

Hi,
Yes, your mother's Doctor is right. A large Fibroadenomatoid
Hyperplesia, even though is benign, just raises your mom's risk of developing breast cancer in the future.
Wishing you all the best to both you and your mother.
