Left nipple milky white discharge

Since 3 months I am noticing sometimes transparent or milky discharge from left nipple if squeezed. There is a severe burning sensation at times a sharp pain in my left breast only. I got my ultrasound done twice which came out normal and the doctor suggested its completely normal. Adding to that im having pcos problem and obese to a category 2. Could you please advice and help me out with this problem. I am quite disturbed falling into depression with this problem. Even if its a hormonal problem why does it happen only from one nipple why not the other one. This gets me way too scared that it might be kind of an early sign of a breast cancer

Hi again,
A protruding nipple is likely a random occurrence. It could be irritation from clothing, a drop in temperature, nerve related or even hormonal imbalance. I don't think it’s indicative of something serious but please be mindful that the burning feeling is perhaps happening because by constantly squeezing your nipple you are probably causing irritation and inflammation to the delicate nerves around the nipple. My advice to you would be to just leave your nipple alone and try to relax since you really have nothing to worry about….
Best wishes...

Hi,
There can be several possibilities that could cause nipple pain and burning sensation. It could be just skin irritation caused by clothing, allergies or hormonal changes. I don't think your symptoms are alarming, especially since you had 2 Ultrasound tests that did not show anything abnormal. Some women are more prone to nipple discharge especially when they are on birth control pills, or on major tranquilizers.
Take care to avoid nipple stimulation (including frequent checks for discharge) because it can actually make the discharge persist. If you stop squeezing the nipple, most probably the discharge will also stop.
Sometime nipple discharge can occur in one or both nipples when they are squeezed, but the important thing to remember is that there could be reason for concern “only” if the discharge is spontaneous (without squeezing the nipple) is persistent and bloody or foul smelling or is associated with a lump, nipple or skin changes etc...
I would advise you to see a Breast Specialist if you're terribly worried you might have breast cancer. While this is very unlikely, it's best to be sure so you can have peace of mind.
Best wishes..

P.S.  PCOS is associated with obesity and body hair growth, but is not a likely cause of nipple discharge.

Thank you for your swift response. I got my ultrasound done from a breaat cancer specialist. She explained me the mechanism of nerves and veins located in the left side of the body. These can sometimes cause inflammation. I somehow got relaxed after meeting the doctor.  But again this problem is arising. The left nipple stays erect most of the times and a feeling of burning starts. This burning goes away when I squeeze it and some discharge oozes out of only one duct. I keep on doing my self examination for any lumps. Everything is clear I dont get to feel any thing expect for the burning, sharp pulling pain. I am getting panic attacks due to this tension. Please help me get over this fear. When my ultrasounds are normal then why is this happening.

Another thing I forgot to mention I am a 28 years old unmarried female. I take primolout n for 5 days each month for my periods. I have been on this medicine since 7 years. The doctor has advised me to stop taking this medicine and start reducing weight.
