Lotion or cream to fade mastectomy scar?

Hi ladies
Wondering if anyone has any recommendations of anything to put on mastectomy scars and also breasts while they are being expanded so hopefully I don't end up with a bunch of stretch marks?  Thanks so much for all of your help!

Hi,
I don't know about mastectomy scars, but I've used Scarzone on my three
lumpectomy scars and they are barely visable now, I'm pretty fair, so I don't know if that makes a difference, but when I was referred to my oncologist after LCIS was found in 2009, he said I looked pretty good and he expected much worse scarring! My niece is a dermatologist and she also recommends Vitamin C cream. I agree with zouzi on the cocoa butter and I think Palmer's is one of the most popular ones.
Good luck with your reconstruction and I hope you end up really happy with your results.
Hugs,
nc

Hi,
There are several lotion you could use,the most popular are the ones containing ingredients like cocoa butter, olive oil, and vitamin E.
What's more important is how you apply it and not the product itself.
Massaging the skin is the important part, because it can help increase blood flow to the area, which in turn often stimulates collagen production, improving the healing process. Keeping mastectomy scars moist with lotion increases the skin's elasticity.
Best wishes...
