Low WBC 5 months after chemo

by 3kids, Nov 14, 2006 12:00AM
I am having my last stage reconstruction in one week, replacing the chest expanders with silicone implants.  I had a CBC done last week and my WBC count is only 3.5.  This is still low and I completed my final chemo at the end of May.  Is it common for blood counts to still be low after 5 months?  Should I be concerned about that with surgery coming up?  Thanks!

I suggest posting your question to the nurse at http://www.medhelp.org/forums/BreastCancer/wwwboard.html.
Although, the nurse will probably tell you to express your concerns to your surgeon.
