I had hodgkins lymphoma in 2001 and I had severe pain in my right armpit area with a growing lump. I couldnt even lower my arm without any pain. If your having pain and no noticeable lump it might just be an infection of the lypmhnodes or other less serious situation, but if you feel like that area has a lump that was not there before PUSH your doctor into checking further, thats what I had to do. Good luck,

Hi sweetie.. Breast cancer as a rule does not cause pain. You said the doctor examined your breast and this may be a lump. Did he or she actually feel an abnormaility/lump in your right breast? The intermittant pain that you are feeling in your left armpit may be due to many reasons. Have you nicked a hair follicle after shaving your armpit? Have you had an infection/virus lately? This may also be muscular. All in all,,, again pain in the breast as a rule is not associated with breast cancer. I think you are worrying too much. Get that ultrasound and I bet everything will be ok. If a mass is seen, which I am thinking probably not from how you worded your question.. it is most likely a benign process such as a benign cyst or a benign fibroadenoma. Let me know if you have any other questions. Quit worrying for now ok hon? I really am thinking positive for you. Follow ur doctors's orders and let the forum know the results as it helps others that may experience what you have. We have a great group of women here. Wish I knew about this place a long time ago,
