Predispostition

by mary6279, May 15, 2009 09:34AM
I just underwent a breast reduction. When the pathology report came back, it showed that I was predisposed to getting cancer (I can't remember the name the dr. called it). Does this mean that it is inevitable that I will have breast cancer some time in my life? My sister and my maternal aunt both had breast cancer.

No, it isn't inevitable; I would think that perhaps your risk over your lifetime may be more than normal. The fact that your Sister had breast cancer would increase your risk but all these risks are minimal.  Regards .....
