Ruptured Cyst

I developed a large, fluid-filled cyst a few years ago. Yearly needle biopsies have come back benign. I was lifting some heavy plants a few weeks ago, and evidently, it has ruptured. There is a lot of swelling and some pain both in the breast and pain under my arm. The area is still movable, but now it's a large, hard, ping-pong ball size mass instead of a fluid lump.

I had something similar happen a couple of years ago with a scar adhesion on my other breast where I had a benign tumor removed many years ago. It was swollen and sore for about a month. Now that internal scar tissue is gone completely.

I don't have insurance any longer, so would like to avoid anymore expensive tests if I can. How long should I wait to see if the swelling goes down before I see a doctor?

I think you should do as Zouzi said. Go to see doctor asap. We are women, and we have to take care ourselves. If you have no insurance, and noone can help you. You can ask doctor if you can pay the bill within 6 to 12 months.

Do what you think is right for your health.

God bless you!!!

Hi,
I think that you should be seeing your doctor about this lump.
Liquid in the cyst that ruptures is non toxic and is usually absorbed by the body.
However, you can't be sure if the cyst is infected or not and for that matter you need to have it professionally investigated.
If you have no insurance you could call 1-877 GO KOMEN and see how they can help  you or talk to your doctor to find a way you can be treated and pay your bill on time.
Best wishes.
