Hi,
You need to tell the doctor about your past medical history and the investigations that were done at the time.
The lump could have been missed on mammogram at that time.
Seeing a surgeon is a good idea to get a proper clinical examination got done and to find out the probable diagnosis. He/ she would also update you if any investigations are required to be done now.
Consult the secialist and clear out any doubts that you might be having.
Let us kow how did your appointment go, and what was advised.
Regards.
I am certainly not an expert, I just joined this forum myself to ask my own question, but as I was reading your question I had one thought to share.
If you say the lump is at the bottom crease of your breast, then perhaps they are skipping the mammogram because it won't pick up that lump anyway.
I have a lump that is almost between my two breast, but is on the outer edge of the left breast. 4 years ago, they tried to pick it up in a Mammogram, unsuccessfully. I was sent to a surgeon for a biopsy just to be sure everything was fine. She did a punch biopsy, that just punches through the skin and retrieves some of the tissue from the middle of the lump. It was quite simple, no needles or incisions, since it is on the outer edge and just below the skin it was easy to get to with the punch. Mine was benign, I don't recall the pathology, anyway, my point is...just because you are being sent to the surgeon it may be because that is the best way to rule this lump out if it is too far on the edge of the breast tissue to be picked up by the mammogram.
Good luck!
