In 1992 I had a lumpectomy on my right breast and radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy (no chemo was needed). For a number of years now, on and off, I get pain near my right underarm - almost as if I had a hernia. It goes away quickly, but lately I am experiencing it under the breast, with any unusual movement. I was wondering if it could be scar tissue. I have my yearly mammograms, and sonograms and everything looks okay. Could it be scar tissue that doesn't show up in my tests? How can I find out if it is, in fact, scar tissue, and what would be the process of removing it?
What does your breast specialist have to say about this?
This could be scar tissue, but only a biopsy can confirm it for sure.
If it is scar tissue, it is removed surgically or excised by your breast surgeon.
