Severe stomach pains after chemo is completed

Hi,
My mom has just finished her chemo treatment (CEF) 3 weeks ago.  Recently she has been complaining of severe abdominal pain (with vomitting and recently diarrhea) - could this be related to her chemo or is it possibly something else.  I am concerned it has metastasized to the abdominal area (I have recommended she see her M.D.)  Her inital diagnosis was Stage 3 cancer - she has had a mastectomy and lymph nodes removed (14 of 24 tested positive).
Thanks for your help.

I appreciate your comment and you're right about being grateful for simply being alive.  My mom hasn't taken Taxol but I do know that the chemo has harsh side effects including possibly damaging the intestinal lining.  I hope it turns out to be somthing simple - we could use some good news for a change.  Thanks!!!

I had Taxol in 2001 and have had severe problems with my colon ever since, my abdomen swells up like I'm 7 months pregnant when I eat, and pain just below my ribs on each side, constant and severe constipation,  doctors tell me that my colon was damaged by the Taxol,  something to look into if she took Taxol or it's relative.
Cancer treatment long term effects are not for the faint of heart, but we are alive.
