Spindle cell metaplastic carcinoma

I had a mastectomy with all axillery nodes removed .Tumer was a 3 mm incapsulated. The nodes were all clean and the margins were all clean. I am having  8 treatments of chemotherapy to be sure that no cell could have escaped into the blood stream . Radiation therapy was also mentioned  ( 8 weeks @5 treatments a week with 5 min. treatments )  If the site was clean is Radiation really necessary as long as I do the Chemo? All my scans are clear.

Thanks for responding I saw my primary today and he has made an appointment for me with another oncologist for a second opinion . It has alot to do with my lungs .I have bonchiectasis and have a shortness of breath. My Dr. are afraid that it could further damage the lungs. But I am getting a second opinion.

If the Radiation was advised by your Oncologist then I doubt that it would be unnecessary. If you have doubts then you certainly could seek a second opinion from another Oncologist about the Radiation.  Regards ....
