Steriotactic biopsy this Tuesday July 1

I received a copy of my mam and ultrasound report from 2 weeks ago. They read: mild architectural distortion with numerous malignant appearing microcalcifications.  The radiologist that day seemed worried and said the palpable area under my areola ( which I found a week prior), was solid and a another small one, close to the larger, was solid as well.  I have been having heavy burning sensations in both breasts for maybe 2 months, which prompted my self breast exam. I finally realized that the feeling was not at the time of PMS. I also remember having circulation issues in my chest in the past several months, but dismissed it.  I now have noticed the orange peel look (not feel) in both breast on the inner bottom of both.  My questions: they only ultrasounded the rt with the lump so even though the mam didn't show anything in the left, don't you think they should US the left too? The breast center told me I should wait until the biopsy results of the rt before worrying about the left....but I want the left US done Tuesday prior to the steriotactic so they can biopsy both breasts and get it over with at once. The other question is: how long does it take for the orange peel look to get worse and obvious?  It's been the same look for the past couple weeks and I'm just guessing from pictures online. Oh the report also says heterogeneously dense breast with moderate PARENCH??  BIRADS 4B, which I understand that part. Thank you for any advice! I can't stand the waiting game:)

Thank you for responding....the steriotactic biopsy was not bad at all for me. The Dr was wonderful with the lidocaine. My left breast is completely fine they said. And they advised me that the look that I thought was orange peel was actually not. So I'm still waiting for the biopsy results. The dr took about 30 samples from 2 areas on the right and I was in the room for an hr and a half. Thanks again!

No particular need to do further studies on the L breast since nothing was discovered on the Mammogram. A second exam (Ultrasound) is done after something has been seen on another film to further define the nature of the issue. The statement regarding dense breast tissue, etc. is just describing the make up of the breast .... nothing unusual in those terms. The 4B would indicate moderately suspicious but it wasn't a 5. I'm not sure about the length of time concerning the orange peel appearance .. and not sure if it does progress other than being present. . Since this is apparent in both breasts I don't know that it necessarily indicates a malignancy as it does in some cases.  The waiting is always the worst and you will be doing more of it so don't let that stress you out.  Best wishes for your biopsy and they are correct ... one thing at a time.   Kindest regards ...
