Suspicious Malignancy in MRI

I recently had an MRI with ultrasound with and without contrast.  The findings were the right breast parenchyma is heterogeneously dense which may obscure small masses. In the right breast superior aspect is asymmetric enhancement measuring 7 x 4.8 x 5 cm.  No abnormal lymphadenopathy noted.  There is a linguine sign within the right implant consistent with intracapsular rupture.  Asymmetric segmental enhancement in the superior aspect of the right breast is suspicious for malignancy.  Assessment  BIRADS: 4

Is the measurement above the size of the suspicious malignancy or the area studied by the MRI?  What are the chances that the biopsy to be performed will be indicative of cancer?

Hello and welcome to the forum. We're sorry about these findings as I'm sure that this makes you nervous. We want to tell you that a BiRad score of 4 does not mean cancer specifically but that they need to evaluate further. Bi Rad scores go from 0 (no cancer) to 6 (certain to be cancer). The finding of 7 cm is large and that is the concerning element, I'm sure. Size of tumor, if this is indeed a tumor, is used for staging of cancer.

Can you let us know about any follow up that has taken place?
