ULTRASOUND RESULTS CONFUSING!

I had a mammogram done on July 29, 2008 and an ultrasound on Aug. 28. 08....... These were the results I received. Can you please explain them to me in a way that I can understand them. I did see a surgeon and have been scheduled for a biopsy on Sept. 24th, but I am very nervous and am getting so many different answers. Should I be concerned or is this biopsy just for  precautionary reasons only. I am most concerned about the hypoechoic lesion as this is what the surgeon wants checked more than the cyst. He told me the cyst most likely is fluid filled and he will aspirate it. The results are as follows:

RIGHT BREAST ULTRASOUND:

HX:  (Abnormal mammogram, right periareolar lesion). Was then sent for an ultrasound. Now ultrasound results say: right breast ultrasound demonstrates right supraareolar cyst measuring 0.8x 0.3 x 1.5cm. This is believed to correspond with mammogram. Additionally, there is a hypoechoic lesion right breast 12 o'clock position measuring 0.5 x 0.22 x 0.54cm. This smaller region is not a cyst. Right axillary lymph nodes measure 0.7 x 0. 9cm

IMPRESSION:

RIGHT PERIAREOLAR CYST BELIEVED TO CORRESPOND WITH DOMINANT MAMMOGRAPHIC LESION. ADDITIONALLY, THERE IS SMALL HYPOECHOIC RIGHT BREAST LESION AT 12 O'CLOCK POSITION. CLOSE INTERVAL FOLLOW-UP FOUR MONTHS OR ULTRASOUND.  GUIDED BIOPSY RECOMMENDED

Thank you for any help you can offer me.

Right, they are not worried about the cyst. They were at first when they saw it on the mammogram and didn't know it was a cyst but now that they do, (from the ultrasound), they are no longer worried.  But what did not show up on the mammogram, and they only saw upon doing the ultrasound, is another much smaller lesion at 12'clock. They don't think, or know it is not a cyst and which means it could be anything else, and that includes both other benign and/or cancerous causes. So, this is what they are checking out through a biopsy because they cannot know from the ultrasound or mammogram. (the latter it didn't even show up)

You have a right to be worried and I think anyone would be. The unknown is often the hardest to take.

You just have to survive until next Wednesday and I know it's hard. Perhaps, if you get too anxious, or already are, you should ask for a tranquilizer. I think your doctor would understand.

Best wishes, kat

There is some kind of lesion that they need to biopsy to be sure its not cancer.
