Nipple clear discharge

I am 18 years old, female, and recently found out that i have a discharge from my right breast.  I have to squeeze for it to come out, doesn't come out by itself.  Anyways well i was wondering if its dangerous for clear liquid to come out, sometimes with a really little bit of white in it...my left breast doesn't discharge like my right one so yes, i would appreciate an answer. Thanks. -Diana

Hi Diana,
Discharge from the breasts in an non-lactating women usually causes anxious moments among the patients. In your case there is no reason to raise an panic alarm. In your age group, it is sometimes a normal phenomenon. If you feel the discharge is still persistent and shows no signs of regression, kindly do then consult the surgeon.

Hi,
It is normal for some discharge from either one or both breasts in females especially while squeezing or during a breast self exam. It should not be a cause of alarm. A nipple discharge is to be evaluated and investigated if it is bloody/ odourous/ persistent/ appears without squeezing/ associated with underlying lump/skin lesion. So you can relax and not worry too much.
