Under armpit swelling or fat deposit

I'm 45 years old.  Its been over 20 years since I've breast fed my first child and ever since I breast fed I have had puffy armpits.  I assume because I had some trouble with milk production is when  the puffiness began to form. It seems that now that I am menopausal these areas are becoming painfully sensitive one side more than the other and the puffiness is increasing slowly over several months at a time.  They look like fatty pockets but I wonder if its fluid or possibly disease manifesting.  I will go see a doctor about it but in the meantime I am wondering if this sounds familiar or similar to anyone's experience?

I'm not sure what this puffiness would have to do with milk production and I'm amazed that if this has been going on for a 20 year period that you haven't considered seeing a Dr. about it before now. I also am not sure why you aren't having routine screening mammograms since you are past the age of 40. This could very well be fatty deposits or some problem involving the lymphatic system but that would be more like individual swollen lymph nodes. It you are really concerned about this condition I suggest that you see your Dr. for an examination.     Regards ....
