Nipple leaking a lot of straw coloured fluid

My mum is 77 and has had  a fair amount of straw coloured fluid coming from one of her nipples for about a month (she only told anyone on Monday) Shehas had 3 previous non cncerous lumps removed and a duct abcess post surgery after a lumpectomy.

She is going to the rapid access clinic next wednesday 4th Feb to see a consultant and have a mammogram and ultrasound -  there is no palable lump this time but she says soemtimes her breast feels like a chinese burn inside....

Does anyone know what  this sonds like? Obviously cancer is the underlying fear.

Thanks Sue - Im just trying to reassure her a little -   cant find much online about it other than for lactating women which obviously at 77 she isnt.

Breast leakage can be any number of things most of those being benign conditions.  The only way for sure is to be evaluated by a physician.  They may choose to send some of the fluid for testing, they may do an mri, or they may want a biopsy. Warmest Regards
