You were told to have this checked out a couple of years ago?  Did you?  Also, I have to wonder if Dani is not correct in mentioning the possibility of pregnancy.  At any rate, you should get it checked out if it has been there for two years.  I am not sure why Bhumika always questions family history...80% of diagnoses are women who have NO history.  Please get this looked at.

Is it possible you could be pregnant?  if I were you the first thing I would do if it's a possiblity is to do a home pregnancy test.  If and when you have to go for a mammorgram they need to know if you are pregnant.  I only suggest this because you said you are two weeks late.  A early sign or pregnancy is very very tender breasts.

Also the later my period is, the more pain and swelling I get in my breasts.

I am 22 years old and a couple of years ago when i was in getting my yearly the nurse did a breast exam. She told me to go get it checked out because it could be a form of breast cancer.
I am unsure if breast cancer is in my family because I was adopted at birth. It is a small, almost oblong, ball that hurts. I am 2 weeks late for my monthly and the sides of my breast are getting even more so sore than menstrual breast tenderness. The ball just hurts even worse than my actual breast!  I want to get this checked out and I do not have any health insurance. Does the health department take care of things like this or no?
Thank you!

Hi,
What is your age? Does this vary is size or tenderness in relation to your periods?
This could be a fibroadenoma or cyst. A clinical examination would be required for a confirmed diagnosis.
It needs to be evaluated by a clinical evaluation, certain investigaions like USG/ mammogram to rule out a malignnacy and be sure of the diagnosis and treatment plan.
Do you have a family history of breast cancer or past history of OCP use?
Hope this helps.
Good luck.
