asymmetrical density

I am 39 years old and just had a recent mammogram. My mother had breast cancer at age 34 and this is my 3rh mammogram. They found an asymmetrial density on my right breast by ultrasound. They say it has fibrocystic qualities and hard qualities. I have to go in for an ultrasound guided biopsy and I am very scared. What are the chances that this is cancer?

There is no way to tell except by biopsy but the Mammogram did indicate that the area had fibrocystic qualities. An asymmetric density can be due to several factors; many of them benign. Just have the biopsy and proceed from there with whatever recommendation is made when the Pathology report is done.   Regards ....
