bilateral spot compression

Hi I am 41 years old and had my first mammogram, I received a phone call stating that I need to go back in for a bilateral spot compression and possible ultra sound, feeling a little freaked out!!  Is this more common or not?  Should I really be concerned?

Hello,It's not at all uncommon to be called back for a spot compression.Something in your first mammogram was not very clear and needs to be further investigated. Many times abnormalities end up being tissue that folded over on itself and appear as an abnormality.Bilateral also means that spot compression will be done on both breasts.Best wishes.

Thanks for the feedback, I am being told that it is in both breast and that what they are seeing are possibly "fibrous nodules" but just want to make sure.
