You are too important to take chances with your help. It is not a bother to the surgeon. Taking care of patients is his or her focus. Removing abnormal cells that could be or become cancerous is important. Early detection and treatment is the best time to do it. It usually results in less treatment and better outcome.
If surgery is reccommended for you, don't let anxiety keep you from getting prompt treatment. That is the best way I know to feel more in control and make the worry go away. Thinking of you.
I don't know much about radial sclerotic lesions but I know with a papilloma there is a chance (albeit small) that they can be hiding or turn in to cancer.
The protocol for papillary lesions is to remove them to be sure there is no malignant cells
