Stomach Upset after Biopsy

I had a Cat 4 Mammogram 3/9/09 - They found 3 masses. Surgical Consult was 3/11/09 and Biopsies were performed on Wednesday 3/18/09. They used stereotactic VAD on me and all three sites took approximately 2 1/2 hours. I received 2 mg of Ativan prior to the procedure to relax me. (taken in two doses 45 min apart)  I ended up with 3 hematomas in my breasts and substantial bruising. I have read nothing about three sites being done. My weight has gone from 116-117lbs (last Monday) to 113 lbs. I am 36 years old and everytime I try to eat my stomach flip flops. I managed to get some yogurt in me today and had a protein shake this morning. I don't feel like I am going to throw up - but its NOT normal for me. I am a runner, and definately an eater.  I have some general anxiety about the results, but I am a very optimistic person. I know I can't change things so I have to face them. What else could be going on?

Thank you both. I had a banana and a pear today and I am sure its nerves. Judging by the fact I was awake all night with a lot of discomfort and what-ifs!  like to live in that place called denial sometimes. Its not so bad if I can just stay there. LoL

This is probably posted and felt a million times a a day. But the wait is so unbearable............. I keep thinking that some technician ate dinner last night with his/her family and THEY know! But I don't. Someone out there knows and its not me.

Ditto to what Japdip said.  There is also a couple of forms of stomach bugs going around where you just feel kind of crummy for a few days and and don't have much of an appetite.  For whatever that's worth . . . .

Warm regards,

Some of the upset could have been from the medication but that should be out of your system by now  so I would guess it's mostly  from stressing over this. A 3 pound weight loss isn't anything to be concerned about; especially if you aren't eating. I think you need to calm down and get something in your stomach. If you can't manage it then give your Dr. a call and ask for something to help settle the anxiety. You can be as positive as humanly possible but anxiety can still take control and sometimes we need a little help in dealing with that.   Kindest regards ....
