To be honest I don't recall any stage being mentioned ...
I would think that since you now have a diagnosis you will be proceeding with surgery followed by whatever treatment plan is formulated when you see the Oncologist. Lymph nodes will be sampled at the time of surgery and treatment will depend upon the Pathology results of all specimens submitted for examination. Breast cancer would not normally spread to the other breast .... and lymph nodes need to be studied under the microscope to determine if they contain any cancer cells. I might add that final staging will not be done until after your surgery has been completed as well as the Path. studies. Regards ...

Thank you for your response. I do have breast cancer stage 2. When you found out what stage were u in? I need hope I'm scared that it will spread... In the ultrasound its not in my other breast or lymph nodes.
I should have said 4 to 7 days, meaning working days .... it can still be longer than that if the specimen is sent to an outside lab or perhaps even two different labs. At the time of my diagnosis I did not have an Ultrasound; just the Mammogram and then Biopsy. Just keep waiting ... you might call your Dr.s office and ask if they have received the results yet. Take care ...
So you also had an abnormal mammogram and ultrasound back in 2002? I still have not received my lab results. It will be 1 week on Wednesday
Yes .... thankfully with a good outcome ... in 2002.
Every woman says the waiting is the worst .. I certainly agree and now, so do you. Take care .
Thank you, I feel a little better (:. Still hard to have to wait. I have 4 young kids. I really hope its nothing to serious. I'll let you know the outcome. Did you have breast cancer?
The BIRADS 4 only means that a biopsy was needed to diagnose the exact nature of this lump. It doesn't mean anything related to the severity of the lump itself. I'm sure a great percentage of biopsies done come back benign but there is no way to determine this until you receive the report on the Pathology studies. This can take anywhere from 4 to 7 days and sometimes even longer depending upon the institution. Please let us know your results and add to this thread if you have any questions or concerns regarding the report. Regards .....
