could it be cancer

I was just called by my doc and told I have a 8mm and 6 mm solid mass on my left breast. I have to get a biopsy done. I of course don't think it's cancer but could small masses be cancerous? I do have a family history of it on my dads side.

Hi Chris,
Unfortunately it's impossible to say what a small or large nodule represents, until a biopsy is done and the tissue examined under the microscope.
Most often, lumps in the breast are benign, but when they are solid,it's always recommended to have them biopsied to make sure that cancer is ruled out.
Wishing you an uneventful biopsy ( like Tammy G9656 ) and most of all benign findings!
Best of  luck to you!   :)
