diognosed breast cist/dark shadow also

I went for a mammogram,they found dark shadows,so they did an ultrasound and saw a cist on my left breast,my obgyn sent me to a surgeon,and she scheduled a biopsy,but wants to talk to a radiologist about the dark shadow area also on my left breast,she said they might do a biopsy on that area as well but she wants to see what the radiologist thinks.has anyone had this problem,and do they know any other things that can help .

It sounds like you are receiving excellent medical care and the decision to ck. regarding the shadow is wise. I wonder if a breast MRI might clarify this area in regards to an additional biopsy. As a rule a biopsy isn't required for a cyst and this would be indicated by the BIRADS score on your mammogram report.   Regards ....
