These tumors may grow larger and some may not. How rapidly the growth happens really can't be predicted just like IF more will develop or not. Some grow, some don't. This aggravating condition is so unpredictable. Take care and be sure you keep up with routine exams with your Doctor and monthly self breast exams as well.

Your problem although not pleasant, really isn't considered "serious". Fibroadenomas are benign breast tumors and can be removed or just left alone. If they become large enough to cause discomfort then removal is the way to go but otherwise they don't require treatment except for checking for unusual growth or any other changes that may occur.
Usually Ultrasound is performed since younger women tend to have rather dense breast tissue which is difficult to "see through" with Mammograms.
I would advise you to consult a Breast Specialist regarding your fibrocystic breast condition. This condition is present in nearly half of all women so it unfortunately isn't at all uncommon.  Regards ......
