Titanium clips safe?

I had a breast reduction at 43 y/o. It was discovered that I had DCIS after the routine pathology. I had a partial mastectomy and found that my surgeon placed titanium clips during the surgery. I wasn't happy about having metal in my body. After about a year I started menopause and about year and a half later I started having pains in my arms and carpal tunnel symptoms. It's got me wondering about the clips. Does anyone else had any similiar story?

I also have pain that I KNOW is from the clip. I can't even wear earings of any kind of metal in my ears, I should have known better and told them to keep their clip. I'll have to have mine removed....

I have so much titanium inside me I think my personal net worth went up! It's not a problem as it's so tiny and it is NOT magnetic. Teeny tiny.... itsy bitsy... I wonder if this amount of titanium makes me high maintenance

I would ask you this instead.. did they do a node biopsy? Did they take any nodes? That could cause the issues you mention.

Best wishes :)

I second what japdip says.
I have one titanium clip in my right breast and I've never noticed any ill effects.
If anything, it's presence and it's function gives me piece of mind.

The titanium clips are not dangerous. I have several pieces of titanium in my spine and it has never caused me a moments problem.   Regards .....
