The reaction of the health care providers at the clinic doesn't surprise me.
For the most part, clinics don't staff on-site specialists and are, therefore, geared to handle basic health care needs. Anything beyond that, is out of their realm of expertise.
They do, however, have connections and affiliations with other health care facilities and providers. I would suggest that you attend your next appointment at the clinic and, without feeling bad, restate your concerns about the bloody discharge and the lump. And, while you're there, why not ask them if you can have a referral to have a mammogram done?
im too young for a mammogram. they just did an ultrasound and it didnt show anything and basically they said they couldnt make it show anything
But, you're not too young to have breast issues and concerns... ie. bloody discharge along with a palpable and painful lump. So, regardless of age, I think that you have a legitimate reason to have a mammogram or some other form of diagnostic testing beyond the ultrasound. Also, there are ways to get mammograms at a low cost or even, free. And, the personnel at the clinic should be able to point you in that direction. If they are unwilling or unable to help you with that, another course of action would be to contact a local Breast Cancer awareness organization in the city where you live. These organizations are known to be very sensitive, supportive and proactive when it comes to Breast Health and Breast Cancer concerns... I would go that route if you don't receive more attention from the clinic.
