Hi Janie,

Japdip is right. The tamoxifen and the other estrogen blockers are the culprit. Ask your oncologist for some ideas of what you can take or do to give some relief. I know exercise can help with some situations. For me it attacked my hands and feet the most, just like the chemo did. As unpleasant as it is, try to keep taking it as long as you can. Talk to your oncologist about it and get as much info as possible. Mine said that I stayed on it long enough to possibly give me the best benefit of the drug. I switched to Aromasin and found it to be worse for me. Each person is different and of course not all get the same side effects. Do what you can for as long as you can and then do it for a little bit longer. How's that for advice? :)  Best wishes... I feel your pain.

I would say that a greater percentage of women on Tamoxifen suffer the same side effects that you have mentioned. In some cases these may lessen aftr being on the drug for some time but evidently this isn't going to happen in your case. The only solution is to take some over the counter pain med. for sosme relief (if approved by your Oncologist) or stopping the drug whih of course in NOT recommended. You might ask the Oncologist about switching to a similar drug but keep in mind that most have the same side effects. Regards .....
