post surgery

I'm sorry if my question seems trivial. Yesterday I had a lumpectomy and a sentinel lymph node biopsy. When I woke up from surgery I was wearing a type of sports bra that is very binding. Since at that point was in pain I ask if I had to wear it and was told yes. Of course I didn't ask for how long and no one said. It's now Friday night and there is no one to ask.  So my question is is better to keep the breast bond in a bra like this or its not necessary. Thanks
