Breast biopsies (3) near chest wall

why are women supposed to put up with painful breast biopsies? Why can't we sue the hospital for malpractice?

I'm not sure just because something is painful why a person would think they should be able to sue the Hospital for malpractice. Pain during a medical procedure isn't malpractice !!!  If you experienced unordinary pain when you had your biopsy then you should have ask for the Dr.s to use more medication to deaden the surrounding tissue OR perhaps if this procedure is ever scheduled again you might consider a light type of anesthesia. Unfortunately the practice of medicine isn't painless for us who are the patients nor should we expect it to be. Regards ...

The first time you experienced pain during your biopsy you should have said "STOP .... this is more pain than I can stand!" I know of no institution that would withhold pain medication or numbing medications or even light sedation in such a circumstance. We as patients do have the responsibility to ask as many questions as it takes to feel comfortable and be well informed about any procedure scheduled. You do have to ask though .... and make your feelings known.

Because of the fact that they did not give me any information or options concerning my 3 biopsies that were close to the chest wall. They lied and said it would only be a pinch. All I felt was stabbing for 21/2 hours. I thought all women have to go through this but in this day and age we dont. There are options that were not offered to me.
