I am going on tamoxifen next week and do intend to take a drink unless I have side effects.  Before I was diagnoised  with breast cancer I was the friend who drank the least, took exercise and ate well, yet I was the one who got the breast cancer at 39.  So my motto is that I will be careful in the future, but I still intend to live life and have a bit of fun.  Mind you, I definitely over did it on my girls night out on Friday to celebrate the end of my breast cancer treatment,  but boy did we all have fun.
Decide for yourself what is best for you, we are all different.

Studies show that alcohol increases the risk for breast cancer and that it does not matter what type of alcohol you drink.  One to two drinks daily can increase you chances by 10% compared to those who seldom drink.  Something to think about.

Ditto for me, too.  I still love to have a glass of wine (red especially) once in a while.  I've been on tamoxifen and effexor for 15 months.  Have 3 years 9 months remaining, but who is counting?  ;)

I drink and have been taking tamoxifen for 1 year. There are alot of ladies over at breastcancer.org that have a few that are on the drug. You can read the insert for the drug nothing is mentioned about not drinking.
