I wouldn't say that it changes anything but it may well be associated. Lymph nodes tend to enlarge when there is some type of infectious process in some area of the body. All the more reason to ck. with your Dr. for an exam and possible testing as "zouzi" mentioned in her previous response. The sooner the better !! Regards ....
Hey thanks for your response, but I did forget to mention that I did feel a little swelling under my armpit. Does this change anything?
Hi,
I don't think your problem has anything to do with breast cancer, but it could be a condition called Gynecomastia that usually occurs in teenage boys, caused by hormonal imbalance. However, adult men could have this condition too, when they have a high level of estrogen that promotes glandular tissue growth.
Gynecomastia could also be caused by taking certain prescribed medication, which could have steroid properties or by using illicit drugs.Heavy alcohol consumption can also cause the condition.
Generally Gynecomastia isn't a serious problem, but I would advise you to see your doctor for a complete medical exam and let him/her know if you are taking any type of prescribed medication,or if you are perhaps using illegal drugs, because they could be the reason for which this condition develops.
Since there is a persistent swelling around your nipple area, then it is necessary that some type of testing be done, such as blood tests to check your hormone levels and a Mammogram or Ultrasound to obtain a correct diagnosis.
Take care....
