underarm pain

i am a 33 yr old female. for about 2.5 yrs i have had a 'swollen node' under my left arm. it comes and goes and i have had 2 ultrasounds on it and it didn't show anything sinister.  while pregnant it had swelled up quite large and went down again. when my milk came in, it was the size of a golf ball but soon went down after i began breastfeeding.  i have also had chronic aching on the left side of my body and it is getting worse. the pain under my arm has gotten worse and so sore to touch. the pain radiates into my clavical and shoulder down to my elbow and feels as though it is in my mid back too. i have also had S.O.B. for a few yrs and the doctors say it is anxiety. i have have had a lot of blood tests and all came back negative. i am due for another ultrasound this week. i am petrified i have cancer and it is being 'missed' by doctors because of my age. there are no palpable lumps in my breasts. it is just this aching. i also have  aching in my joints/muscles on my left side of my body too. can someone please advise. should i be requesting any other testing?

I would think that the swollen lymph node is due to something OTHER than any breast issue. You have so many general symptoms that maybe a consultation with an Internal Medicine Specialist might be of some value. It's also a possibility that your Dr. is correct and it could be due to anxiety and if so there is a solution to that also .... it needs to be proven either way and then you can have whatever treatment is available. I don't know of any testing that YOU should be requesting ... that should be left to the Physician.   Regards ....

thank you for the reply. i had another ultasound on friday with the radiologist, not the tech. she felt that the nodes all looked 'normal' and suggested that there are several reasons for swelling of the lympnodes.  my blood work as all come back normal,however, i am still have a lot of muscle and joint aching. it is the strangest and scariest thing. i try to convince myself it is just anxiety but it just seems to strange to be that.  i am afraid of writing it off as anxiety and it turns out to be something more serious.
