what does this mean?

Hi,

I am new to this forum. Am 48 year old post menopausal woman from India.

I recently went for a mammogram. While other things are perfectly normal with no no evidence of micro calcification and no solid cystic lesion, small irregular focal opacity in the lower outer quadrant of right breast( corresponding to the cutaneous lesion) has been reported. However, in the report no biopsy is suggested. I want to know if this is serious and I check with the doctors on this? It is also reported that on correlated ultrasound screening, no solid or cystic lesions are noted in both the breasts. Please share your opinion.

Thank you so much. It relieves me of much tension. But I just do not see any sort of lesions, on the outer skin of my breast. Can focal opacities be referred with regard to   the skin of the breast? I am confused on this.

A cutaneous lesion is one that is on the skin surface and not in the tissue below. There would be no particular reason to biopsy a lesion on the surface of the skin but it could certainly be treated in some way.  Evidently your breasts are free of any type of lesion. You should see your Dr. about the skin lesion for some treatment of that problem.   Regards ...
