Prophecy Sign: Matthew 24:7 tells us to watch for earthquakes. Luke 21:11 says we will see great earthquakes and in that same verse we are told we will see fearful sights. Luke 21:25 also warned that we would witness the sea and waves roaring. On today radio show I will be talking about these signs and others. However, let me provide you with proof today that Jesus’ warning are right in our face and most of the world can’t connect the dots between these signs and current events because they do not know the Word. Last month I warned you, you are going to start to see reports about huge earthquakes.  I am not steering you wrong because I get my information from Jesus right from His Word.  I know His signs and I believe in what He has told us to look for.  Knowing we are getting closer to the beginning of 7 year tribulation we know from the Word that all these signs will get much stronger.  This is the reason why you are beginning to see the reports of these major earthquakes.  Again in the news today we saw another major quake. I quote, “A strong earthquake shook Japan's capital and surrounding areas Sunday, halting trains and a professional baseball game, but there were no immediate reports of damage or casualties. There was no threat of a tsunami from the quake, which was centered at a depth of 188 miles (303 kilometers) in the Izu islands off the eastern coast of Japan, the U.S. Geological Survey said. The USGS measured the quake at magnitude 7.1, while the Japan Meteorological Agency put it at 6.9.  Only six days ago Mexico had a 6.9 quake.

I grew up in the height of the Charismatic Movement where the "End Times" were always "at hand". I can remember hearing dozens of scenarios for how Jesus was coming back any day. And there were also dozens of songs pining away about how "I wish we'd all been ready." And who can forget the  action-packed epic movies like "A Thief in the Night" and "A Distant Thunder".

That was nearly 40 years ago, and while the Christians who produced these movies and books were no doubt sincere, they were all wrong -- Jesus did not come back in the 1970s. And all the 88 reasons why Jesus was supposed to come back in 1988 turned out to be false as well.

Now we are hearing a growing chorus of voices -- including the upcoming Hollywood movie, also called 2012 -- saying that the world is going to end in 2012. We'll see.

Fuel has been added to the fire recently with the release of scientific reports that there is an expectation of major solar storms in 2012.

I find great comfort and wisdom in the words of Jesus that, "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father" (Matthew 24:36, NIV). So I don't allow myself to get caught up in "rapture fever". I find it to be mostly a waste of time and energy that could be better spent helping hurting people and preaching the Good News of Jesus Christ.

But just to stay in balance, the Lord instructed that disciples were to be aware of the "signs of the times" and when these things begin appearing to "...stand and look up, for your salvation is near!" (Luke 21:28b, NLT) So we are to study the signs of the times, but not to be so caught up in "end-times theology" that we are distracted from the important work of the Great Commission.

In light of this, I believe this prophetic exhortation by R. Loren Sandford, pastor of New Song Fellowship in Denver, Colorado, is timely. This prophetic word was published in Charisma Magazine's online Prophetic Insights section.

In recent weeks I've found I can no longer turn to the History Channel (my favorite) without being confronted with the Nostradamus Effect, the Mayan calendar, the Chinese I'ching or the Christian prophet, Malachy, from the 12th century, each of which has been said to have declared the end of the world in this time period. Even people who don't read their Bibles seem to be focused on the last days.

Will the world end in 2012? I don't believe so. But in that time period and leading up to it we will see an acceleration of instability and uncertainty in the world. This will not be a collapse, but rather an intensification of fear as the whirlwind of change across the globe gathers speed.

It will appear that major nations once at war with one another are making peace. In terms of the possibility of major wars, therefore, there will be a diminished sense of danger, while smaller conflicts in more localities will likely escalate, in both number and intensity. It will be a time of "wars and rumors of wars" (Matt. 24:6, NASB), but not on a world scale.

We will also see an increase in natural disasters in various places—earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunamis, hurricanes and tornadoes. Earth can no longer bear up under the weight of the sin of mankind (see Matt. 24).

The coming turmoil will be felt primarily in global power shifts in both comparative military might and economic influence. These shifts are already taking place. America will remain a big fish in the world's pond, but it will no longer be the only big fish in the world's pond and will therefore feel itself diminished in terms of significance on the world stage.

These changes, among other influences, will lead to increased political turmoil and greater ideological polarization in America. We will be an increasingly divided nation with an escalating risk of erupting violence as frustration grows; ethnic and cultural groups see themselves disempowered; and people seek outlets for the fear and anger they feel due to not being heard by their government and/or other ethnic and cultural groups.

In days to come believers must not feed these divisions or participate in them at any level or in any way. We have been called as reconcilers who have been given a ministry of reconciliation, not division (see 2 Cor. 5:18).

That being said, no matter what we do, we will be increasingly marginalized culturally as a result of societal disfavor in days to come, but we must take care that our own attitudes and behavior in response to such disfavor do not draw unnecessary levels of opposition upon us.

In the years to come it will become more and more necessary that we live as the first and second century Christians did under the Roman Empire. They didn't equate their Christian faith with a political movement or party as so many of us do today—"My kingdom is not of this world," Jesus told his disciples (John 18:36)—but rather became known for their love when everyone else's love grew cold. They openly modeled a moral and glorious lifestyle without issuing scathing condemnations of Roman immorality.

"See how the Christians love," became the testimony of those who observed their character and their conduct toward one another as well as toward outsiders. It wasn't that they didn't address sin. They did, in fact, call for repentance, but left judgment, vengeance and condemnation up to God. This made them wonderfully attractive to growing numbers of Romans who were hungering for an alternative to the destruction brought on by the sin that infected the core of Roman society.

Historically, societal decay has always set the stage for revival because sin brings death—and death makes people hungry for healing. If we will set a course to be Christlike in days to come, we can turn the tide of disfavor and win multitudes to Jesus.

The years to come may therefore be tumultuous and fearful ones for the world, but if we will take our rightful places as ministers of the kingdom of God—a kingdom of love, service, and signs and wonders—the coming years will be the most glorious the church has ever known. Romans 8:19: "For the anxious longing of the creation waits eagerly for the revealing of the sons of God." This is our hour! Matthew 24:14: "This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come."

I think it helps to realize that behind all the evil is Satan. So when we look at someone who is caught up in sin, we need to remember that Satan has that person blinded and we need to pray and help them see the light as much as we possibly can.

I think we see the attempts of man to have godlike powers bypassing God.  I figured sometime ago that God will only let it go so far, before bringing the conclusion, but I was convicted in my attitude to "grieve for the lost" and do the best I could to help & seek help to change.

I have encountered a number of people on the journey that focused more on "the evil out there" rather than looking inward & asking for help to experience victory over sin inside....pride, lust, bitterness, envy, jealousy, gluttony......

That was part of convicting me about my doing what I should be doing when He does come if He comes in my lifetime. I hold to the promise that it is not how I started the race but how I will finish it.   I want to thank everyone for sharing your views...very affirming, convicting and thought/heart provoking.  Draws our attention to what is important in these difficult times.  We see the birth pangs....know time is running out...like the resources on earth.  We have lived to see unbelievable things.

We make the choice daily who we serve....who we follow.....who we want to look like.  Those are the steps we take.

You know, I know that bible prophecy is real. I've never really thought that it was was real as now, when scripture is open and unlocked. When I study God Cares I had no idea that the bible was soooo deep. I know the bible has so many parts and it's a complete book (What book has wisdom, history, predictions, love, war and promises all in one.) But honestly the bible explains itself. I was in shock at specific dates that came to past and that prophecy is  unfolding right now in my lifetime for me to see. Do you know how much the reformers wanted to see these days, and to live in it? It's such a privileged to be able to live in this time. I tell you it give me the frights but yet, I think it's awesome.

It scares me to know that we are living in the last days, but perfect love casts out fear and I know God has put me in this time frame because he believes I am strong enough to endure it.

The man of sin is already at work even in Paul's time. In the thrid epistle of Thessalonians chapter 2 it talks about it and Satan has been trying for a long time. The fact that this one world  thing is happening, is showing that everything is falling into place and I think you all know what religious leader wants this the most.

If we would give the bible a chance and not be bias maybe we would find wonderful truth. But we as people sometimes become to comfortable in error and when truth hits us we shy away. Why is that? I guess that's how we know we're living in the end - People aren't interest in being the minority who embrace what's right.

Just my thoughts and I believe this was a good question/discussion/topic (lol) boldsojah4christ! :D

The reason for Jesus' return is put in very simple terms in the Bible - to reward the righteous and to punish the wicked. In describing the judgment scene, the Lord said: 'And these (the wicked) shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal" (Matt. 25:46). And Paul, in later years, said that God would "recompense tribulation to them that trouble you," but that he would give rest to you who are troubled, "when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power" (2 Thess. 1:6:9). "Then shall the wicked be revealed, whom the Lord will consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming" (2 Thess. 2:8). "Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, shall give to me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all of them also that love his appearing" (2 tim. 4:8).

Amen april i agree! Things are speeding up & knowledge is growing faster than ever! It has gotten 2 a point where man think that he is above God now! As a matter of fact they are leaving God out of all most everything! 2 a point where scientist are cloning animals! Next thing you know they will be cloning humans if they have not experimented with it all ready!
& u said would we be ready 4 his return & just like u in some ways yes & in some ways no! But i will tell u this the 1st step 2 getting ready is by accepting jesus christ as ur lord n saviour!!

I find it all pretty fascinating. I don't know when the Lord will choose to come back, whether it be in my lifetime or my childrens' or their childrens'. I just have a feeling it will not be that long! For one thing, we are seeing so many signs, at a much faster rate, it seems.

For one thing, knowledge will greatly increase. During our life time, knowledge has increased at such an astonishing rate it almost can make your head spin! From medical knowledge to scientific knowledge, etc., it's just staggering how much knowledge has increased lately, just in our lifetime!

And the bible says natural love will grow cold. A natural love is a love a mother would have towards her child or a man with a woman. See how much that has changed? Abortion has increased all over the world since it became legalized.

It also says we will see more natural disasters and signs in the skies. Also, pay attention when you see the whole world watching Israel! We are already doing that!

There are so many signs. The bible gives us these signs to watch out for so that we can be ready and make sure everyone else is ready too! The bible says that all these things will happen but when the gospel has reached the whole world, then Christ will come. I don't think there's too many places left that hasn't heard the gospel by now! You see, God is being patient with all of us. He wants to be fair and make sure we've heard the gospel and either accepted or rejected it. It's our own free will. God will not force us. He will only hold us accountable for as much as we know or have heard.

Are we ready? If Christ returned tomorrow, would we be ready? In some ways, I'd say yes but in some ways I'd say no. I don't feel like I've done enough for God. I worry about loved ones who haven't turned to God yet, as well as all the others out there who are lost and need God. Let's remember to keep praying for one another. We all need God and we all need each other!

END TIME SIGNS

1. False Bible teachers would be money hungry. They would be smooth talkers, have many followers, and slur the Christian faith (2 Peter 2:1-3) See some at: Fakemessiah.com

2. Homosexuality would be increasingly evident at the end of the age (2 Timothy 3:3)

3. Earthquakes would be in diverse places (Matthew 24:7)

4. Stress would be part of living (2 Timothy 3:1)

5. Many wars would erupt (Matthew 24:6)

6. People would forsake the Ten Commandments as a moral code, committing adultery, stealing, lying, and killing (Matthew 24:12)

7. There would be a cold religious system, in denying God's power (2 Timothy 3:5)

8. Men would substitute fantasy in place of Christian truth (2 Timothy 4:4). This is so evident at Christmas when the birth of the Savior is lost behind the myth of Santa Claus.

9. Deadly diseases would be prevalent (Matthew 24:7). The worldwide increase in AIDS deaths is almost inestimable. Over 160,000 Americans die of cancer each year.

10. The fact that God once flooded the earth (the Noahic flood) would be denied (2 Peter 3:5-6). There is a mass of fossil evidence to prove this fact, yet it is flatly ignored by the scientific world because of its uncanny implication.

11. The institution of marriage would be forsaken by many (1 Timothy 4:3)

12. There would be an increase in famines (Matthew 24:7)

13. Increase in vegetarianism would increase (1 Timothy 4:3-4)

14. There would be a cry for peace (1 Thessalonians 5:3)

15. The possession of Jerusalem would be at the center of international turmoil (Zechariah 12:3)

16. Knowledge would increase (Daniel 12:4)

17. There would be hypocrites within the Church (Matthew 13:25-30)

18. There would be an increase of religious cults/false teachers (Matthew 24:11 & 24)

19. The future would seem fearful to many (Luke 21:26)

20. Humanity would become materialistic (2 Timothy 3:4)

21. There would be many involved in travel (Daniel 12:4)

22. The Christian Gospel would be preached as a warning to all nations (Matthew 24:14)

23. Jesus said Christians would be hated "for His name's sake" (Matthew 24:9)

24: And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.  (Luke 21:25-26).

25: Youth would become rebellious.  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy (2 Timothy 3:2)

26: Men would mock the warning signs of the end of the age saying, "for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation." (2 Peter 3:4). The Bible even reveals their motivation, they love lust (verse 3). They fail to understand that a day to the Lord is as a thousand years to us. God is not subject to the time that He created. He can flick through time as we flick through the pages of a history book. The reason He seems to be silent, is because He is patiently waiting, not willing that any perish, but that all come to repentance.

Reference: "Nostradamus: Attack on America" by Ray Comfort

Ray tends to believe that the Holy Bible and possibly the occult was the source for Nostradamus' prophecies. Nostradamus was probably reading Scripture at a time the Catholic Church forbade anyone other than clergy to read it.

I have a very simplistic view of things. I have read the bible and have come to this following conclusion. Warning: This is my own translation and it goes something like this.

We have The Good Trinity
We have the Evil Trinity
We have the prize (us)
God loves us and tells us what is good and bad, and wants us to choose good. (Remember we have free will, nothing is forced on us)
Satan tempts us with everything God sees as bad, choose your poison, beit drugs, sex etc.
We will all choose a master, good or evil (sorry nothin in between here!)

The Good Trinity now has their army
The Bad Trinity now has their army

The bad one gets the last shot at trying to be God, Of couse those of us who read the book already knows who wins!  There, This is my uncomplicated version of the Bible. LOL

Amen sis! But when you hear people say that the end is near! It doesn't really mean the world will end it just means that the sin in this world will come 2 & end! God is going 2 destroy this earth with fire this time not with water! So with that in my mind the end is near so we should live everyday like it's our last!

I have sent BSJC a message on my thoughts! Things are bad we all know that, but it could get better! Signs have been there forever but I believe people focus on trying to say that it is comming!!! I personally follow the Bible and dont Dwell on when people say the end is near! It could be a long time hundreds of years...

People who are not of Christ say things like there is going to be a change because they believe in 2012 and Tabloids like Sun Magizine that say that everything is going to happen!!  They are not of faith and believe the Devils works! (Which of course is hard for even the strongest of Believers to deal with) My Mother said when she was young the same things were said and dates were set... No One Knows.. It seems to me that even the Believers are trying to predict! That is what bothers me!
Heres a link to a Bible study that I found and I found it helpful!!!

http:// www. jimfeeney.org/ endtimesteachings .html#

Remove the spaces!!!

Disclaimer: I am not trying to say anything on anyone on this forum! I believe you are all a true Blessing from God... He gives signs but just because things happen even no matter how bad they get it does not mean the end is near!!! God Bless you all!

Yes the signs are here people can be in denial all they want but the truth remains also as u stated violence is on the rise crime everywhere! Rascism hate murder, no love or respect 4 anyone anymore! It's all in the bible!
As u also stated about china & other countries about the population continuing 2 grow! There are a lot of Christians over in china that are being killed & tortured 4 the word of God as we speak!

Many years ago, I got caught up in focusing on the "end" ...reading lots of books out there by many well-known bible teachers/preachers who have since gone on to write fiction so I will not mention names...but I realized how easy it was to "go off the deep end" and that the important thing was to focus on doing what was right ....be doing the Lord's work when He comes as then I wouldn't need to be afraid.

Learning to love others, feed the hungry, help take care of the widowed, old, young......help the feeble (of which I am one), fellowship, help find the lost and share the WORD.  There is sanity in that.

Then I realized how little I knew the bible, so I set out to read all the way through for the 1st time and that was an achievement in itself (not skipping the lineages included).  Of course, many more questions came up & that is when I stepped back as I couldn't answer them, and no one else answered them to where I could accept them either.  So I went into a holding pattern...believing God had a hold of me while I felt anguish, and faced some truths in my life, etc.....getting my feet on solid ground.

Lots of trials went on & I struggled through them...slipping away in a sense by no longer going to church, but still praying/doing "business" with God in my way.  It got to where I cried out that I couldn't understand His word in parts because of all the interpretations, etc.....I cried out that it shouldn't be that hard....I read that God is not the author of confusion .....so I learned to just "let go" and admit for the first time to God....I don't really know You.  It was then that I began to feel more real.

Before I took in so much of what "others" had said through teachings, preachings, tapes, audio's, books, etc., etc.  I said "nice long prayers"....but it was when I admitted my anger and the "why do they get away with this & get rewarded but I have to be back here in this mess crying out to You for help", that I felt His presence stronger...

Strange, huh?  I thought about the velveteen rabbit & becoming more real.  I thought about how much influence we take in all our lives.....I thought about the simplicity of truth being hid from the so-called wise & realized this is WAY BEYOND my ability to comprehend!!!!  I can go in circles, and circles and circles....and that is where I will be left.....but FAITH is another story.  That is where I am now....I cannot explain how God can be or the end or the beginning, but I believe!!!!  I believe that I believe and when GOD decides to end it all, He will bring the conclusion.

Are the signs there?  Yes, most definitely.  To answer honestly:  The sheer magnitude of how fast everything is happening leads me to believe we actually may be near.  The whole earth is connected now, the violence covering the face of the earth is unbelievable, people have turned away to follow after other gods and the earth is being destroyed meaning plant life, animal....by humans with chemicals, etc.

The earthquakes are coming more frequently and other disasters, so I cannot help but believe some huge change is coming.  Rome fell when it became so corrupt from within.  I have believe for over 30 yrs. that America was heading that way & have seen nothing that would lead me to change my mind.  Rebellion amongst the young is increasing.  I have seen temples be built to other gods under the guise/protection of "freedom of relgion".   I wouldn't have a problem with it if it were just that and not used to steal the sheep.  That sends me right back to God saying...why does it have to be this hard to find the truth...so i will be in my dialogues with Him seeking answers.

I questioned whether religion leads me to madness......that is how deep I went within.  I hit the wall...boundaries, and that made me think about why there are boundaries & what "safety" there is to be by having boundaries....by how much time is lost being lost......

So...easy for me to say, I have been in the wilderness & still may be there.....how can the created thing tell the creator anything?????  My perspective is fraught with limits.

Time will bear witness to truth's passing.

Disclaimer time:  This sharing is mine and I am not claiming that I am right.  It is my view & a glimpse of thoughts I have or have had in the past.  I am not knocking other religions as I would like to understand more of how they came to be and why.  I marvel at how India & China have survived  so many centuries & have so many people.  By the reasoning of the bible if they were of the devil, how would they have been allowed to produce so many children? By my understanding, God saves a remenant when believers fall away, but we are talking humongous numbers.  I have more questions than answers & can only "bleat out....help me know the truth" to God

in response, I do believe in bible prophecy and I do believe that Jesus will one day return, and I wouldn't mind if it was real soon.  However, none of us know when He will be back.  Even Jesus said He doesn't know and He won't know until the Father says go.  When someone comes up with a date I ignore it because the word also says when we least expect it that is when He will return.  The apostles thought they were in the end times because they saw the signs, yet we're still here.  The signs are everywhere but since I'm clueless as to when the event will happen I will continue to live my life to the best of my ability for my Lord and when I finally stand before my God, well, as the song says "I can only imagine."   God bless you
