Swelling after Desmoid Biopsy

I have a Desmoid Tumour in my lower left abdominal muscle and within 20 mins of having the needle biopsy's I could hardly walk and my belly began to swell - 6 hours later I appeared 9 months pregnant. 48 hrs later I went back to hospital and they ran tests for 6 hrs and came up with absolutely nothing (including no fluid, gas or infection) and sent me home. It's been two weeks and I still wake up looking 5 months pregnant and by dinner I'm back to looking full term. Normally, I have a 29 inch waist it now swells to 39 inches. The Doctors believe it isn't Biopsy related and have prescribed 'Colofac'. My Pharmacist doesn't believe this will help. I have had to buy maternity clothes and am very worried - I have 4 children...

For the past 9 months I have had Diarrhoea. Then I noticed 'the lump', more so when I had my period. Over a 3 month period, I had an Ultra sound, CT scan and a MRI. None of these could determin what the lump was. I had a Colonoscopy to isolate the cause of the Diarrhoea and it showed nothing wrong.

Before the physicians would remove the lump, they scheduled me in for a biopsy to determine what the lump was, they told me there was a very high chance it was a malignant sarcoma but it would take 6 days for the results to come back to confirm this.

Straight after the 'tracked biopsy' my belly started to swell and I waited 48 hrs to see if it would go down, but it didn't, so we went back to the hospital and they did tests but they couldn't find what was causing the swelling.
After the 6 days wait, I returned to the hospital and the physicians told me it was a Desmoid Tumour. I told them what was happening with my stomach and they looked concerned, they said it was very unusual, but they were so relieved and surprised that it was a desmoid that I don't think they really cared about the swelling.. I was scheduled in to have it removed 4 weeks from that day.

After another week, I went to my GP and she gave me "colofac" for the swelling and now, Antibiotics for the five marble like lumps that have formed in my Labia Majora. It's all rather depressing really.

I just want to know why the Biopsy caused my belly to react the way it has and why it's still not going away.

The information provided here is not clear.  Also,if you have this tumor in the muscle, why are the physicians involved not removing the tumor.
