One Swollen Tonsil

One Swollen Tonsil

Hey there...

About two or three months ago I developed a cough, at first that was it, nothing more, just a cough. But it didn't go away, in fact it got worse, yet that was my only symptom. Anyway, I went to the doctor and he check things out, everything sounded fine and the chest x-ray showed nothing. Anyway, That past a couple weeks ago.

However, after that, I started feeling ill. My neck was tight on the right side, and a few days after that, I was getting this horrible pain right where the neck meets the shoulder/ in and around the collar bone. Again, after a couple days that sharp stabbing pain vanished, yet the tightness remained.

I was feeling around, rubbing, trying to get that tightness out, when I thought I felt some hardness in and around my adams apple. I shrugged it off as I've had that before. But, yet again, it evolved. I had a some difficulty swallowing, and it felt as though there was something stuck in the right side of my throat.

Now I'm worried. So I go to a different doctor, and he assures me it's nothing, but suggests I go see my family doctor anyway. So I go, he said nothing felt strange, nor did my throat look funny. So I felt alright with that and left.

And yet another stage of evolution. I began to feel really, really tired and dizzy. So, yet again, I went back to the doctor. He did some blood tests and nothing showed. So he said it was most likely a virus and it was affecting my inner ear. Again, I was satisfied...

Now, this brings me to the namesake of this post: The swollen tonsil.

So, I decided to do some throat investigation on my own. I took a light and shined it on down, and thats when I noticed it. On the right side this oddly shaped looking lump right where my tonsil is. It's got some size to it; hard to say for certain the exact size, but about 2 cm long, maybe 1.5 wide. But again, it's hard to really tell.

It doesn't really hurt, and I can't feel it all the time, but if my throat's dry, I can feel it a lot more. Anyway, I just find it strange that only one would swell up. Add to the fact that I'm still dizzy/lightheaded/disoriented... I'm just a bit worried...

Any, and I mean any insight/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your time.
