Small Bowel Obstruction

I had surgery for cancer of the cervix, follwed by radiation .  Three years after the surgery until now I have been having episodes of small bowel obstruction. Is there any that can be done ?

Hi.
Bowel obstruction is one of the complications of intra abdominal surgery and radiation therapy.  There is resultant fibrosis after such procedures are done.  A complete bowel obstruction needs surgical treatment.  There is a need to decompress the bowel, at the same time do adhesiolysis if there is any.    A partial bowel obstruction, on the other hand, can be managed conservatively by bowel rest and bowel decompression by placing a tube.  Surgery can be done if there is progression or no improvement.
Take care.
