Been to the Vet 3 times, Cat is in pain.

It's getting a little frustrating, my cat Milo has lost his energy being only a little over a year old. He walks around real slowly making short pitiful meows like he's in pain. He doesn't greet me at the door anymore when I come home and is a bit more reluctant to go outside.
He also finds small places to hide in the house during the day which is a little odd for him to do that.

I know something is wrong with him and I've been to one vet clinic to which they prescribed me antibiotics incase of another animal attacked him but they told me he's fine. I went home and noticed after 3 days of changing his litter than there isn't any poop in it, there is urine however. I immediately took him back and they said his colon is fine nothing to worry about, he's probably going outside (which isn't normal for Milo).

The next day I come home and Milo greets me at the door and he's shivering pretty bad and still very weak, so I take him a 3rd time but this time at another more respected vet clinic to get a 2nd opinion and they do a check up and diagnose him with just a fever. The vet gave Milo a shot of pain reliever and it woke Milo right up, he explained that I continue the antibiotics and if Milo is still sick within 2 days to bring him back. Milo was back to his old self again with that shot but slowly as the 2 days passed he reverted back to being pitiful and sick, crying all the time and very cautious in how he walks.

(btw, after the shot he began eating well and pooping normally, but his appetite has decreased)

I honestly am out of money and hope. I've taken him to the vet 3 times now for which I've paid.
I'm going to have to borrow money from my brother just to take him back.

It really pains me to see him in this state, I was wondering if anybody here has any similar problems or any idea what's going on with Milo?

I'm going to take him back to the vet but I have to borrow money to do that so it's going to take about a day.

I'm a college student, living by myself and I don't get much money with my current job. Even though I'm tight with money I always put money aside for my cats' well being and food. When i'm home I play with him and never let him outside for more than 2 hrs at a time. He's been fixed and had his shots

So , we have another great "cat daddy " here, Im sure you and Pip will be good  fellows...
Im also praying and wishing Milo be fine asap and you can keep managing your bills - you know, this worry and problem is quite common among pet lovers, dont matter how many animals you have.
Hang in there!

Thank you for the input! I think I will just bite the bullet and pay for all the tests, it's real the right thing to do.

Things are kind of a pickle for me since my phone service was shutoff due to lack of payment. I'm going to try and Skype at&t for an extension so I can call the vet. I normally am able to afford all of my bills but things have been crazy.

I picked up roofing as a side job for some extra money but much of it went to the vet. Its just frustrating for me that I would have been able to afford the blood test had my first visit been able to identify the issue.

I'm daddy actually haha, but I'll post back the results, I'm hoping to go by the end of the day or tomorrow. Thanks for the reply!

oh how very frustrating for you and little Milo....to me by what you describe it does sound like Milo is having pain..but internal pain, not external...ie from a fight. tell me did any of these Vets do blood work on him and not just a visual exam? I really
I know how expensive all these tests and Vet visits are...but there is something not right with him and only bloodwork at this point will tell you whats going on....
we are not Vets on here, only pet parents as you are. I would strongly suggest you keep Milo strictly indoors until he's much improved and you somehow find the money to do lab tests...this itself isn't really all that expensive...perhaps $100 would give you a full panel than you could get to the bottom of his pain...
you are being a good mommy, sure hope you get some results...please return anytime and keep us posted:(
