LOL!!!!---Great idea Opus! Clever girl.
Hi, I too had real problems getting my boys to use an alternate litter for collection, than after some reading found an answer that works!
Cats cannot stop peeing midstream, and that works to our advantage.....get an old soup ladle an keep it handy for when you notice kitty heading to relieve himself....quickly approach the litter box gently raise him up by the tail (just a few inches) and slip the ladle between his back legs. He'll give you on heck of a nasty glare as he keeps right on a peein an fills the ladle. Works great I've used this method several times. Make sure ladle is washed well before using, when you have collected the urine pour into a small glass jar. Best if Vet is looking for crystals that this sample get there ASAP. Note this will not be a sterile sample an not for use when a C&S is needed. Good luck:)
LOL!!! There IS NO easy way to collect urine from these little guys. Trust me I have worn myself out trying to follow mine back and forth to her box with the Nosorb. Eventually on the fifth try I got it.
I did try those litters and I just found it hard to determine what Color the urine was. SOOOOOOO here is my motto on this: "Let the Vet Collect"
Good Luck,
CML
