Chewing cat

My kitty, Josie, is a chewer. I have a feeling we will be seeing the vet a lot. She likes to eat paper like receipts and tissue paper but today, She was laying on the counter (bad) and we hear tink tink - she was chewing the spoon (!) in the sugar bowl! Why would a cat chew on the end of a spoon?

my cat Bob is chewer too! he goes for plastic though, especially the
window envelopes and once he got the tape off a fruit bowl from Shoprite
and i thought he would die-it was just a 2" strip and i called the vet in a
panic and was told to calm down, he'd pass it. we've had several cats (3
right now!) and i'm glad to know we aren't alone with a chewer! He chewed all
the ends off the knives in the butcher block, too-i guess they have their
preferences! We thought he'd outgrow it when he grew up, but no. I under-
stand a squirtgun for a deterent is helpful but we just keep the dangerous
stuff away from bob. as for why......"oh, BOB!!" is heard alot at my house!
unfortunately, he discovered the garbage can! we get up and find wrappers
on the floor in the am. but enough about me! just make sure her diet is
balanced and nothing bad that she likes to chew is available and get
ready to have funny stories to share! good luck and bob says hello.

Ah... thanks... we keep joking that she has Cushing's, but that chewing, alas metal chewing seems to be a symptom per the internet.

We joke because I had it - so my hubby says like mother, like daughter... her brother is perfect weight, and she is like a watermelon with a tiny head.

At least if it is that, I am very very familiar with it. *sigh*
