Complications at site of injection of sedative for spay surgery

Was informed my kitten is limping on her rear left leg because of complications due to injection. Was told to observe her til Mon. (2+ days from now) and if no improvement, then bring her in.  What happened?  Is this common? Is it just a bruise? Could this be permanent?  Please put my mind at ease.  This little girl is soooooo precious and much loved by me and my husband.

Thank you very much for those reassuring coments.  Jasmine's leg is slowly getting better!  It's been 6 days since her surgery, and I estimate about a 50-60% improvement. This forum is awesome!

Yes it is somewhat common, not just in cats but people too.  An injection can nick a muscle or cause a bruise from bleeding from a vein.  Some cats (and people) just have very small or hard to hit veins.  It is very rarely permanent and you should see at least some improvement within a few days.

hi...so sorry about kitty and the complications, I would sure ask my Vet alot more questions and find out exactly what is wrong and why.
Find out what type of sedative was used than look up and see what the complications of such are.
Hopefully it won't be anything serious or permanent but you have every right to find out exactly why this happened.
I'm sorry I can't be of any help in answering you're question.
Try going to the top of this forum, in the white box that says 'search conditions, symptoms and treatments'
type in limping after surgery or anesthesia side effects....something similar, it will  bring up others who have posted on similar problems.
My best for the poor little girl, keep us posted please. And advise me on the type of anesthesia that was used perhaps I can do some research too.
