You are all such wonderful people, thank you for all your sweet words, kindness, and understanding. You bring tears to my eyes, the good kind.
I'm trying to convince my roommate that she DOES want another cat living in her townhouse. I could live full-time in my apartment, but there are definite benefits in staying there, like more room for an energetic young cat to run around, up and down stairs.
I showed her some pictures of cats from CAT, and she really liked one of them named Layla. She's young (not kitten) short hair calico with lovely eyes. I'll see if I can post a picture of her. Of course if I do get a cat, I'll be posting plenty of pictures, and stories about her. I've decided I would like a female (spaying, microchipping, vaccinations, etc. all come with the adoption fee).
I'm thinking that when I feel better I'll look into doing volunteer work for the Cat Adoption Team, whether I get my own furry friend or not.
Hugs to all...
Apple...that is such a good idea...and reminder to all of us. Thank you ♥
Yes dear,I guess your idea of going to the Cat Adoption center is very good, maybe you got a new friend there, maybe not,but...
You can also give a small birthday gift for some cat there that was never loved like Fluffy...
Kisses!
Well since all i can do is cry today reading these posts i will just send you a warm hug~~~sara
*bighugs* friend. Our little furry people are such blessings aren't they? I'm so glad you had so many years to share with Fluffy! My little kitty, Twinkie is also 16. =)
I sliced the bread and tomatoes, then left the kitchen and my roommate went in and mixed up the tuna salad. I walked back in to make my sandwich, and there was a little plate on the floor with a nice flake of albacore tuna and a pink birthday candle on it.
I went upstairs, got Fluffy's tin of ashes, and took it down to put by the plate. I decided he could have his tuna on the couch, so I set it up and took a picture, which I'll add to my photos here.
We had a nice celebration dinner. :o)
I am amazed to see your post. I was just in the shower washing my hair and wrestling with the thoughts of whether or not to ask you how you were doing with missing Fluffy and if you were at all considering another kitty. You answered all my wonderings :)
I don't blame you at all for not washing his blanket. You can probably still smell his sweet kitty smell. You keep that as long as you need - maybe forever. Oh boy, here I go again with the crying just imagining you petting his blanket.
I'm so happy you're considering another kitty. One that will be blessed to have you. You'll know the right one when you meet.
Happy Birthday to Fluffy! That sounds just like you to remember him in this special way. Fluffy would like to see a little candle on the tuna sandwich :)

Well, I can't add a thing to what Opus said...it was really touching. I had just gotten through telling Jade how blessed we are to have shared our lives with those truly "special" ones. I am so happy you are entertaining the thought of possibly adding a furry little bundle to love. You know you won't regret it ♥ Happy Hunting! :)
Pip, you're wonderful person; no wonder all the cats love you. :o)
I found out I don't need to leave the house to visit the Cat Adoption Team. The website had introduced me to some lovely cats that I would love to go visit. I'm posting a link to where I've been looking, under adoptable cats. They list kittens to foster, too...

Oh HAPPY BDAY to you Fluffy little dear, I too still think of you often and miss mommy telling us about your daily doings.
That is so sweet FM, how you choose to celebrate Fluffy's day, that was very touching.
So sorry for all the health problems you have been having. I am glad tho to hear you are beginning to consider another little one in your life, Fluffy would like that, he knows how someone else out there needs a good mommy just like he once did.
enjoy the tuna and bbq pork!!!

Heya;
It is good to remember anyone (human or critter) that brought happiness into one's heart.
I can well understand the attachment to his blanket (a definite symbol of his being)...I still carry my high school prom picture (May 1975). =)
The young lady who I dated at the time was very close to my heart, but we grew apart and parted as friends. She eventually became very good friends with my mother-in-law when they worked in the same office.
...and, I still see Tuna, Victoria, Calamity, Dancer and Cerridwen around the house, though it has been many years and we do have a house full of kitties at present.
That which has lived, deep in our hearts
Becomes a part, of our true self
Smiles and tears, all are the same
Bringing us strength, bringing us hope
