Trapped a wild cat. Planned to TNR. Vet checked for feline leukemia and feline AidsAids Aids - resources Early symptomatic hiv infection and then spayed cat. We took her home and found she was not so wild. Her eyes are always dilatedDilated cardiomyopathy. Took her to an Ophthalmologist after our vet said he could not help. Ophthalmologist said cats eyes and optic nerves are just fine. Might be the muscles. Can a cat have this type of dilatedDilated cardiomyopathy eye condition be completely healthy?
My cat has dialated pupils and not feeling very well at all. He is not
eating or drinking much water. I'm feeding him with a syringe. He is eleven yrs. young. He is going to the doctor tomorrow. I am worried.
So, assuming that they are chronically dilated - I assume she can see? You would have mentioned, blindness I guess!
Are there any other symptoms that you have noticed?
Was she checked for high blood pressure? Hypertension is not uncommon in cats and can cause dilated pupils.
I don't suppose you feed her much raw fish? There is an enzyme in raw fish that can dilate pupils.
However, I'd consider hypertension as a possible cause if it hasn't been tested for already.
Oh, and congrats on your cat rescue!! I love hearing stories like that!!!!! Good for you :)
